Typhoon Roars into May Air Show at Duxford

The RAF’s latest, state-of-the-art aircraft will be one of the stars of the Show at the Imperial War Museum Duxford’s Spring Air Show on Sunday 18 May.

Bristling with technology and with a blistering supersonic top speed of Mach 2, the multi-role combat Typhoon will be amazing the crowds with its speed and manoeuvrability as it carries out a jaw-dropping display. “We are thrilled to have the very latest RAF front line aircraft at our first show of the season.” Says Tracey Woods from Duxford. “The Typhoon is an amazing aircraft, being exceptionally agile and capable of operating at 65,000 feet. Add in its mainly carbon fibre composites lightweight airframe and twin turbofan engines as well as the very latest in radar technology and you have an aircraft which is very ably equipped to carry out its role of air policing, peace support and high intensity conflict.”

The Typhoon is just one of the many aircraft which will appear at the show, thrilling spectators with a non-stop exciting display of over 3 hours. Alongside the Typhoon will be a huge variety of aircraft from the Spitfire and Hurricane fighters of yesteryear through to some of the early jets and other combat aircraft.
