Ring’s Restaurant
Jinney Ring Craft Centre,
Hanbury, Worcs

By day the renowned Farmhouse Restaurant provides teas, coffees, cakes and
freshly prepared lunches to Jinney Ring Craft
Centre’s many visitors, and now by night it is transforming
itself into Ring’s Restaurant, a new
fine dining venue.
Ring’s is the creation of Amanda and
Malcolm Sunter who purchased the Jinney Ring Craft
Centre nearly two years ago. Over the last five months they have
made a huge investment in the re-development of the restaurant kitchens and
servery areas, enabling Ring’s to serve an exciting new menu.
Ring’s is open for dinner on Thursday,
Friday and Saturday evenings from 7:00pm onwards (booking essential). Local
fish, game, meat, poultry and vegetables will feature in a range of
traditional and modern dishes which will all be freshly prepared in the new
state-of-the-art-kitchens by Chef Shirley Jenkins and her team.
Announcing the opening of Ring’s, Amanda Sunter said:
“Eating out is a special occasion, but I know from personal experience that
reality sometimes falls short of expectation. We have set out to create a
restaurant where the whole experience – atmosphere, food, wine,
presentation, service and attention to detail – is really special.”
Menus will be changed every week and, with a typical price of £14 to £18 per
head for a main course, Amanda and Malcolm Sunter believe that
Ring’s will quickly attract a regular
clientele from around the region.
We visited Ring's on a recent rainy Thursday and thoroughly enjoyed our
meal. Despite the rain, the view from our table, overlooking the
extensive grounds at the back of the restaurant, was delightful and we could
watch the antics of the ducks and geese in between courses. The restaurant
has a welcoming but tranquil atmosphere and throughout our meal, the service
was friendly and attentive. We both chose the same starter of Deep Fried
Wedges of Brie with a cranberry relish which was very tasty and the right
size to take the edge off our appetites but still leave lots of room for
what was to follow. As the weather was so horrible, I went for the
comforting - sounding main course of Mediterranean Fish Stew which fully
lived up to my hopes and captured a rich blend of Mediterranean flavours and
colours. Robert chose Pan-fried Calves Liver & Crispy Bacon on a bed of
Creamed Potato which he found delicious.
For
pudding, which we just about found room for, I had a delicious and light
Raspberry Crème Brulee and Robert had Bread and Butter Pudding served
with an unusual Marmalade and Bourbon Custard. There were also
some nice additional touches to make the meal a little bit special -
delicious little appetizers to begin our meal and petit fours with our
coffee.
So, for a very pleasant evening of lovely food
served in a tranquil setting, we would recommend a visit to Ring's.
