Wine REPublic Restaurant & Bar
Centenary Square
Broad Street
Birmingham
B1 2EP
0121 644 6464

If you're looking for somewhere to eat that's stylish and comfortable and offers a good choice of well presented, delicious food then the Wine REPublic Bar and Restaurant  is the place for you. Situated at the front of the Birmingham Repertory Theatre, the restaurant is ideal for theatre-goers, visitors to nearby Symphony Hall or the NIA or simply those who want to enjoy a good meal in an attractive setting.

Recently re-opened after being refurbished at a cost of £300,000, the Wine REPublic offers a special "Show Time" menu which is available between  5.30pm – 9.30pm (booking essential.).  At a cost of three courses for £14.95 (inclusive of filter coffee) or two courses for £11.95, this is truly excellent value. (See menu below)

We visited the Wine REPublic after the pre-theatre "rush" on Friday evening.  We were greeted by courteous, friendly staff who maintained an excellent standard of service throughout our meal. For starters we chose chicken and asparagus roulade with spicy tomato chutney and smoked haddock and chive potato cake with a lemon and lime crème fraiche. Both were an excellent start to the meal - tasty and well-presented. Next, I chose the cassoulet of butterbeans and potato topped with a goats cheese, pumpkin and basil tart which was delicious whilst Robert opted for the braised steak with fondant potatoes, cabbage and bacon, onion and mushroom sauce. These were delicious, cooked to perfection and served in ample portions. It was difficult to choose from the choice of desserts but I eventually had the Classic Lemon tart which was arranged so prettily it seemed a shame to eat it and Robert had what he described as a "family sized" Apple rhubarb nut crumble which was outstanding.. We had coffee and mints to follow.

All this for £14.95 each is really excellent value.
